Hello everyone! We are having a great day so far! (I guess if we push the heat factor out of everything!)
We got back from church at Dispatch CRC just a while ago, Dispatch is about a 10 minute drive into the beautiful country. While we were there they fed us a delicious potluck dinner and we took our group picture on some hay bales to make it a little more "Kansas!"
The groups are all out right now participating in the Amazing Race where they will travel to each worksite to see what the jobs throughout the week and at their last stop they will be at their worksite. When they arrive at their last worksite we asked them to take at least 5 to 10 minutes to look over the worksite and take some time to pray over that worksite. We hope during this race the small groups will get some good bonding time in and it will help them feel closer to one another!
Yesterday we had the Heartland SERVE Olympics, it was a lot of fun and each of the participants got to play one of the games and the winners of each event earned their team points for the week. We are having a points system all week and the winners will be announced and awarded prizes at the end of the week!
We are enjoying everyone being here and we are trying to get to know each of them personally, it's a little bit hard with a larger group but it's been great so far!
Tonight will be our first night of Praise and Worship and we have invited the community to come in and enjoy that with us tonight! We are really excited to start our time at Praise & Worship as we know this can be a life changing times for many of the participants! We are blessed.
Please keep us in your prayers, especially for cooler weather and safety throughout the week!
Blessings to you!
